|New President Appointed at SHOPPERS Food & Pharmacy|
WASHINGTON, Oct 04, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- SUPERVALU INC.(R) (NYSE: SVU), parent company of SHOPPERS(R) Food & Pharmacy, announced today that Tim Lowe has been appointed president of SHOPPERS. Lowe, who recently served as senior vice president of operations for SHOPPERS, will assume his new role on October 11.
"Tim is an experienced leader at SHOPPERS and is well positioned to grow the organization in the marketplace," said Brian Huff, senior vice president, Specialty Retail, SUPERVALU.
With nearly 20 years of retail experience, Lowe first joined SUPERVALU in 2009 as the senior vice president of operations at SHOPPERS. He returns to SUPERVALU after a brief tenure at Burlington Coat Factory as senior vice president of operations. Lowe's retail grocery experience also includes five years with Meijer Inc., where he was promoted to the role of vice president of general merchandise for retail stores, and seven years with Wal-Mart, where his most recent position was regional manager of retail stores.

Lowe replaces Dick Bergman, who retired from SHOPPERS on Oct. 1.
