MINNEAPOLIS, Jun 30, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- SUPERVALU INC. (NYSE: SVU) today announced that Matthew Rubel has unanimously been approved to continue as a member of the company's Board of Directors. Mr. Rubel had previously resigned from the position of Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Collective Brands, Inc. and, consistent with SUPERVALU's governance principles, submitted his offer of resignation as a member of the Board of Directors. On June 28, 2011, the company's Board of Directors unanimously rejected his offer of resignation.
